On May 19, 2011, Texas Senate Bill 1581, which contained an amendment by Senator Jeff Wentworth that would have legalized licensed concealed carry at Texas public colleges, was struck down in the Texas House, on the point of order that it violated the Texas Constitution’s “single-subject” rule.
